Asked a question last month

Hi, I have mild fever and sore throat. I am awaiting my covid test results. Should I continue to breastfeed my 4 months and 10 days old baby? What precautions should I take? How does one know if baby has any symptoms?

Where am I?

Hi

Definitely you must continue breast feeding your baby as benefits of breastfeeding sub stantially overweigh the risk of transmission.In2 case of active cough you may wear mask while breastfeeding.IgA present in breast milk protects you baby from various infections .

One may look for fever, lethargy, decreased feeding in infant as we see in other viral infections. But as per the current knowlege base , paediatric population  has mild symptoms .So stay positive.
